Markdown vs MDX

Astro supports both markdown and MDX, check out the full documentation here: https://docs.astro.build/en/guides/markdown-content/.

MDX file are completley backwards compatible with standard markdown. You can edit all your documents in markdown and upgrade them to MDX as you need to. Simply change the file extension from .md to .mdx and you are good to go.
