Explanation and Concepts

The Trimble Marketplace is more than just a website; it’s also a program that provides several benefits for developers aiming to grow their business:

  1. Increased Awareness and Reach Listing a solution on the Marketplace gives you exposure to Trimble’s extensive, qualified and global customer base. The Marketplace leverages Trimble’s domain authority and search engine optimization to help your solution get discovered.

  2. Credibility in Shared Industries The Marketplace provides developers a pathway to enter a new industry with credibility and authority. Trimble’s certification process provides our customers with a level of confidence in your solution, and we provide Marketplace Partners Brand and Marketing Guidelines to leverage this authority in marketing materials.

  3. Growth Opportunities The Marketplace provides a path to monetizing your solution directly to relevant Trimble users and provides developers with a simplified portal with lead and revenue reporting to evaluate performance.

Becoming a Marketplace Partner requires a financial commitment through an annual listing fee and revenue share. Note, the revenue share only applies to business sourced from the Marketplace.

Marketplace Partner Tiers and Their Purpose

Section titled “Marketplace Partner Tiers and Their Purpose”

Trimble Marketplace is part of a larger Technology Partnership Program within Trimble. To date, Marketplace supports four products including Vista, Spectrum, ProjectSight and Trimble Connect. For Technology Partnership opportunities for products not supported by Trimble Marketplace at this time, see Trimble Partner Network.

There are three partnership paths to participate in the Marketplace:

Marketplace Partner: This is the primary method for developers looking to commercialize their solutions on the Marketplace. This tier provides the essential resources to develop and successfully list your connected products, including sandbox environments, listing management tools, and a comprehensive marketing and brand kit.

Startup Partner: The Startup Partner engagement empowers early-stage startups to develop innovative solutions within the Trimble ecosystem. This tier is limited to startups generating less than $2 million USD in annual revenue. Startup Partners receive the same benefits as Marketplace Partners, however the annual listing fee is waived for the first two years or until revenue exceeds $2 million USD. Revenue share and sandbox environment fees apply.

Strategic Partner: This is an invitation-only tier for partners who have a proven track record and provide significant value to mutual customers. This tier offers the highest level of benefits, including a dedicated partner manager, consultation on co-marketing efforts and enablement programs for Trimble sellers.

The process of becoming a Marketplace Partner is a structured journey that moves from building to commercializing.

  1. Engage: The process starts with a self-service application on Trimble Marketplace https://marketplace.trimble.com/pages/marketplace-partnership. An introduction call follows to evaluate the fit and review the program mechanics, benefits, terms and conditions.
  2. Build: After completing the legal terms and conditions, you will be provided with documentation and resources to create and manage product page(s) on the Trimble Marketplace, complete a compliance review and utilize other Marketplace benefits. If needed, sandbox environments, APIs or other development tools will be provided. At this stage, Marketplace product pages can be published with a “Coming Soon” designation.
  3. Certify: Trimble requires a technical evaluation including a live demonstration of the solution to ensure functionality. Trimble will also assess security protocols, as well as onboarding and support readiness.
  4. Go Live: After the certification is complete, the “Coming Soon” designation is removed from the Marketplace product page and ongoing support continues.
